- What do you regard as the lowest depth of misery?
- What I am feeling today.
- Where would you like to live?
- Somewhere happy and away from this orphanage.
- What is your idea of earthly happiness?
- Of when I was 8, and my father took me to the fair where we watched men dancing on trapezes, their bodies swaying back and forth without collision.
- To what faults do you feel most indulgent?
- My hatred of people and my ability to find ways to avoid conversing with them.
- Who are your favorite heroes of fiction?
- I've always been fond of The Hatter or Cheshire Cat, the latter because of his ability to disappear. I would like to disappear.
- Who are your favorite characters in history?
- Gregor Mendel because of his conviction in his ideas on genetics despite the world shutting him out and Albert Camus.
- Who are your favorite heroines in real life?
- I'm not much of a fan in the way of women, but if I had to choose I would likely pick Jan, the nurse who treated my father. Even though she gave me the worst news imaginable, she was also very kind and lighthearted despite the dark edges of her job.
- Who are your favorite heroines of fiction?
- Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and her ability to find sanity in madness.

- Theodore Gericault

- No one in the world has ever entirely created beauty out of sadness the way that Ludwig van Beethoven could.
- The quality you most admire in a man?
- The strength of character and the ability to live a black and white model, while also seeing the grays and understanding mistakes.
- The quality you most admire in a woman?
- The women that are strong enough to withstand the need to prattle on and gossip about one another.

- At times I would say my intelligence in school, although it is difficult always to find something good about myself.

- I enjoy working assisting at the morgue. I think I would like to get a doctorate, if possible.
- Who would you have liked to be?
- Anyone but who I am.

- My depressed nature and aloofness.

- The escape they allow me from my dark thoughts.

- My greatest problem is being unable to move on from the past.

- Losing my father even earlier in life, though I find this current state to be horrible enough.
