What do you regard as the lowest depth of misery?: To feel my mind turn against me as an instrument of pain.
Where would you like to live?: In the beach in Florida. Or on the internet.
What is your idea of earthly happiness?: To have a strong sense of self-worth, good health, a means of creative expression, and plenty of novelty. To love someone who loves me.
To what faults do you feel most indulgent?: Spending too much money and eating too many cookies. Defensiveness.
Who are your favorite heroes of fiction?: Relatability is nice, but I like a man who can show me a good time. I'll say Odysseus.
Who are your favorite characters in history?: The ancient Athenians, with their democracy, soap-opera cast of gods, sea voyaging, dude-on-dude love, etc.
Who are your favorite heroines in real life?: Stylish nonconformists, like Roisin Murphy.
Who are your favorite heroines of fiction?: Carol O'Connell's Mallory and other ass-kicking types.
Your favorite painter?: Can I say Dale Chihuly? For me, glass >>> paint.
Your favorite musician?: Metallica, Soulive, Pat Metheny, Roisin Murphy, Adam Lambert.
The quality you most admire in a man?: Kindness, openness to experience, belief in the equality of all people.
The quality you most admire in a woman?: Same.
Your favorite virtue?: Recognition of the broader world beyond one's own experiences/hometown/mental wallpaper. Rejection of preconceived notions and of tradition for tradition's sake.
Your favorite occupation?: Escapism.
Who would you have liked to be?: The version of myself I could've been.
