What do you regard as the lowest depth of misery?: To be separated from my passions.
Where would you like to live?: In a place where people believe in the inherent goodness of the other.
What is your idea of earthly happiness?: The warm, golden light of a summer sunset, and a lover with whom to share the view.
To what faults do you feel most indulgent?: To envy.
Who are your favorite heroes of fiction?: Those who end their journey with more questions than answers.
Who are your favorite characters in history?: Churchill, Castro, Elizabeth the 1st, Oscar Wilde.
Who are your favorite heroines in real life?: Amelia Earhart, Annie Oakley, Miriam Makeba: women who embraced their power, whether it was considered "proper" or not.
Who are your favorite heroines of fiction?: Elizabeth Bennett, who saw life as one great opportunity to find real love.
Your favorite painter?: Jack B. Yeats
Your favorite musician?: The Rolling Stones
The quality you most admire in a man?: Kindness, morality, humour, humility.
The quality you most admire in a woman?: Ambition, forgiveness, generosity, ease of self.
Your favorite virtue?: Compassion
Your favorite occupation?: Travelling, seeking, reading, giving pleasure.
Who would you have liked to be?: I'm not yet sure I even fully know who I am.
Your most marked characteristic?: A deeply rooted sense of adventure and propensity for becoming bored easily.

What is your principle defect?: Laziness, pure and simple.
What to your mind would be the greatest of misfortunes?: To settle for what's easy or expected instead of risking everything in pursuit of greatness.

What is your favorite color?: The nameless shade of nostalgic memories in my mind.

What is your favorite bird?: One that sings sweetly, and not too early in the morning.

What is it you most dislike?: Intolerance, my own insecurities, easy answers.
What historical figures do you most despise?: Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, all of the churches.
What event in military history do you most admire?: None. It all seems like imperialism to me.
What natural gift would you most like to possess?: Wit or charm.
How would you like to die?: Painlessly, I hope.
What is your present state of mind?: Worried at now having wasted an hour in filling out this questionnaire and having neglected my work.
What is your motto?: I ordain myself from this hour loos'd of all limits and imaginary lines.
