What do you regard as the lowest depth of misery?: To be without a fresh line of thinking.
Where would you like to live?: In the here and now, with small vacations into yesterday and tomorrow from time to time.
What is your idea of earthly happiness?: The ability to choose my preferred set of problems and to live with them until I wish to attempt something different
To what faults do you feel most indulgent?: I am in accordance with Proust on this question.
Who are your favorite heroes of fiction?: The heroes of fiction are those which transcend fiction and become real enough to affect and change us.
Who are your favorite characters in history?: the ones, for better or worse, who made their mark and stir up excitement to this day.
Who are your favorite heroines in real life?: Women who realize they should not stand in their own shadows, let alone anyone elses.
Who are your favorite heroines of fiction?: I'm often not partial to heroines of fiction, as I feel they are never as developed as the male characters. There never seems to be a balance between an inherent feminine nature and the brute strength of their masculinity.
Your favorite painter?: Claude, Rembrandt, Da Vinci, Dali, and Mother Nature herself
Your favorite musician?: Vivaldi
The quality you most admire in a man?: Genius and moral ethics
The quality you most admire in a woman?: strength, femininity, genius
Your favorite virtue?: Dilligence and kindness
Your favorite occupation?: Everything and anything, so long as it engages the mind first and foremost
Who would you have liked to be?: On rare occasions, I wish I were a character in a book, because their fate, good or bad, is out of their hands and in the hands of their author, yet it is they, and not the author, who capture and command our attention anew with the turning of each page.
