What do you regard as the lowest depth of misery?: Sitting alone with my thoughts, thinking of all I should, and could, have done.
Where would you like to live?: Toronto, Portland, Seattle, or Austin.
What is your idea of earthly happiness?: To be able to know love. To have a family. To be able to create.
To what faults do you feel most indulgent?: To live, having unfulfilled potential.
Who are your favorite heroes of fiction?: Those who recognize that change, and by default, a better life, starts with themselves. Their own actions determine their happiness. They grow as people, learning to accept the things that make them who they are.
Who are your favorite characters in history?: Malcolm X. Martin Luther King Jr. Also, men and women like them who provided me an opportunity for the life I have.
Who are your favorite heroines in real life?: Women who are accepting, creative, and humble.
Who are your favorite heroines of fiction?: Same as my answer for heroes.
Your favorite painter?: Esao Andrews
Your favorite musician?: Impossible choice. My tastes are maddeningly varied.
The quality you most admire in a man?: Loyalty, Humility, Intelligence, Good taste.
The quality you most admire in a woman?: Loyalty, Humility, Intelligence, Good taste, Passion, Creativity.
Your favorite virtue?: The pursuit of knowledge on things one may not understand. The desire to not fall victim to complacency.
Your favorite occupation?: Creating playlists. Sharing music. Talking about music. Writing about music.
Who would you have liked to be?: I would have loved to be Dave Chappelle in another life.
Your most marked characteristic?: My desire to speak and be spoken to in a satisfying manner.
What do you most value in your friends?: Honest communication, understanding.
What is your principle defect?: Thin skin. Willingness to trust. The inability to hide how I feel.
What to your mind would be the greatest of misfortunes?: Never to have known my gran. She's definitely the most important woman in my life. She raised me when my mother wasn't fit to, been there for me when she wasn't. More of a second mother, than a grandparent.
What would you like to be?: Myself, as I know I could be.
What is your favorite color?: Any color that I can truly see.
What is your favorite flower?: I like white roses. Classic, yet different. Lilies are amazing as well, man.
What is your favorite bird?: Owls
Who are your favorite prose writers?: I couldn't choose if I tried.
Who are your favorite poets?: Same.
Who are your heroes in real life?: My uncle Courtney.
Who are your favorite heroines of history?: Rosa Parks.
What are your favorite names?: The one I was born with, not the one I currently possess.
What is it you most dislike?: My own faults.
What historical figures do you most despise?: J. Edgar Hoover, Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, George W. Bush.
What event in military history do you most admire?: The anti-war protests of the Vietnam era.
What natural gift would you most like to possess?: The ability to create.
How would you like to die?: Satisfied, having left behind children and family that loved me, and were wonderful people themselves.
What is your present state of mind?: Confused about things I can't control.
What is your motto?: Grow as a man, without forgetting to appreciate the journey, and the people you're given to experience it with.
