Who are your favorite heroines in real life?: Those who answer the call of individuality and independence and responsibility to their own definition
Who are your favorite heroines of fiction?: Complex characters who contradict themselves and change over the course of a novel, unswayed by outer circumstance or opinion

What is it you most dislike?: dishonesty for its own sake, mean-spiritedness, crudeness, loudness
What historical figures do you most despise?: it's in the past, I can be horrified by the past but to despise something takes too much energy
What event in military history do you most admire?: I do not know enough about military campaigns to answer this. All I can think of is the incredible loss
What natural gift would you most like to possess?: boundless energy and a thicker skin
How would you like to die?: after a full life still in good health, with acceptance
What is your present state of mind?: self-scolding for having answered this instead of writing
