What do you regard as the lowest depth of misery?: To have hope and no means to realise it
Where would you like to live?: In town., close to the city, not too noisy, on the boundary of anonymity
What is your idea of earthly happiness?: Peace, quiet, indulging myself with books. Spending time with my family, at home, at the beach. Trying one different thing.
To what faults do you feel most indulgent?: A potential not realised
Who are your favorite heroes of fiction?: Mrs Dalloway, Kate Chopin's charcter in The Awakening, all Kundera's characters, Wuentin from Faulkner
Who are your favorite characters in history?: I try to ignore them. Marie Curie, Beatrix Potter, Einstein, Dewey
Who are your favorite heroines in real life?: Women who get on with it, my sister, Wendy, many others. Going after what they want and making it happen.
Who are your favorite heroines of fiction?: Those who show that woman can exist, in her full potential without man or child but could choose to take on either. There is a Grace from within usually so that they are not crude nor selfish
Your favorite painter?: Picasso
Your favorite musician?: Damien Rice
The quality you most admire in a man?: Intelligence, how to behave in certain contexts, integrity
The quality you most admire in a woman?: Resilience, trust, integrity, intelligence, kindness
Your favorite virtue?: Patience
Your favorite occupation?: Dreaming, sleeping, learning, reading, talking, Saturday crossword, aperol spritz in the sun
Who would you have liked to be?: No one, the weight of expectation frightens me. Ignoring that, I would have liked to have been Einsteint to see the world through his mind.
