What do you regard as the lowest depth of misery?: The lowest form of misery would be to be forced to speak publicly.
Where would you like to live?: I would love to live high up in the mountains.
What is your idea of earthly happiness?: For all of the fighting among nations to stop.
To what faults do you feel most indulgent?: I avoid almost everybody
Who are your favorite heroes of fiction?: Since the war began it has become difficult to find many books, and works of fiction are not of high importance when we are scavenging.
Who are your favorite characters in history?: I do not believe much of what they tell us about our history anymore. However, I always loved hearing the tales of Martin Luther King Jr and men of his kind. Men who were able to change the world through peaceful means instead of through fighting.
Your favorite painter?: Art was not a very important part of my training.
Your favorite musician?: Neither was music.
The quality you most admire in a man?: Integrity, honor, kindness
The quality you most admire in a woman?: Gentleness, kindness

Your favorite occupation?: Dreaming of a better world. Playing with the children.

What event in military history do you most admire?: America's initial decision to stay out of World War I.

How would you like to die?: I would like to die of old age in my bed surrounded by my family, but I highly doubt that will be likely./

What is your motto?: I do not have a motto. My life belongs to the people of this community. I would do much to keep them safe and healthy.
