What do you regard as the lowest depth of misery?
A public defender.
Where would you like to live?
New York City. So many criminals with fat bank accounts.
What is your idea of earthly happiness?
Winning.
To what faults do you feel most indulgent?
Using sex as power.
Who are your favorite heroes of fiction?
Sandy Stern, the attorney who defended Rusty Sabich in the book Presumed Innocent. Read it in high school. That's when I knew I wanted to be a lawyer. All those dirty characters. The only innocent one was Sandy.
Who are your favorite characters in history?
Robert Kardashian. The most blatantly guilty celebrity in modern times, OJ Simpson, was acquitted, all because of Robert Kardashian.
Who are your favorite heroines in real life?
Sotomayor, Ginsburg, Kagan and, of course, O'Connor.
Who are your favorite heroines of fiction?
Erin Brokovich. Oh wait, she's a real person. I don't have time for reading fiction anymore.
Your favorite painter?
David, down at Sherwin Williams. He painted my entire apartment before I moved in. Gave me a good deal.
Your favorite musician?
Eddie Vedder. Love him.
The quality you most admire in a man?
Ambition.
The quality you most admire in a woman?
Power.

Respectability.
Your favorite occupation?
What do you think? Providing equal justice under law.
Who would you have liked to be?
Nothing else but what I am destined to be--a great lawyer.

My brain. But after that would be a smoking hot body. Or so I am told.

Being on the same level as I am. Most of my friends are colleagues.

I like sex. So what. I already admitted this as a fault of mine.

Being disbarred.

On the Supreme Court. And maybe, eventually, a mother.

Never thought about it. Something exotic, I guess.

Again, I have nothing.

Howard Denehy, head of the firm. Top dog. Founded Denehy, Sharp, and Kincaid.

Didn't I answer this? Sandra Day O'Connor would be my number 1.

I hate it when people call me Luce. Tacky.
What is it you most dislike?
Being the firm's law clerk. If they will give me a chance, I will blow their socks off.
What historical figures do you most despise?
Corrupt judges. Mark Ciavarella tops my list. You don't mess with kids' lives like he did.
What event in military history do you most admire?
The Gettysburg Address. Probably the most powerful closing argument in history.
What natural gift would you most like to possess?
The power to change people's minds.

An old woman.
