What do you regard as the lowest depth of misery?
For any member of my family to be injured or hurt.
Where would you like to live?
I am happy living in my own country, England. I have never traveled away from it, nor do I wish to.
What is your idea of earthly happiness?
To live in happiness with my royal lover and the father of many of my children, John.
To what faults do you feel most indulgent?
Alas, I like to sit too long at the table with my family and friends, eating excessively of pigeon pie and drinking wine
Who are your favorite heroes of fiction?
Those chivalrous knights in the romances I am fond of reading. I enjoy reading the poems of Petrarch; John has many of them in his personal library.
Who are your favorite characters in history?
Our late and most royal King of England, Edward III. He was loved and admired by all.
Who are your favorite heroines in real life?
Heroes? My very own lover, John of Gaunt, who has given me the tender honor of being his mistress.
Who are your favorite heroines of fiction?
We often hold up Griselda as an example for women to emulate; she exemplifies patience, as well as obedience.

I admire many musicians

Spending time with my children, reading, needlework
Who would you have liked to be?
John of Gaunt's wife. I am too low of station; it can never be, although he promises he will someday marry me.
