What do you regard as the lowest depth of misery?: losing all senses but not the mind itself.
Where would you like to live?: a decent place, with little noise or disruption
What is your idea of earthly happiness?: health, sound sleep and acute senses; in other words, ability to appreciate the earthly things
To what faults do you feel most indulgent?: The more forgivable a thing is, the less it is a fault. So this question is without an answer unless some specific criterion is given as to what counts as a fault.
Who are your favorite heroes of fiction?: those who suffer and sacrifice from their ideal and will
Who are your favorite characters in history?: great philosophers and writers: Dostoevsky, Albert Camus, or Siddhārtha Gautama, to name a few
Who are your favorite heroines in real life?: There's only one--in my present life--whom I love and admire
Who are your favorite heroines of fiction?: None that I'm willing to admit
Your favorite musician?: Gustav Mahler
The quality you most admire in a man?: wisdom, will, forgiveness
The quality you most admire in a woman?: purity of hear, intelligence, beauty

What is your present state of mind?: A bit oblivious (as always) but overall pretty clear in my mind, also a bit amused by young Proust
What is your motto?: I read a pretty good one but I forgot. People who live by a motto is essentially flawed.
