What do you regard as the lowest depth of misery?: To have no place to call home
Where would you like to live?: Within view of a coastal sunset
What is your idea of earthly happiness?: Everything little Marcel said, minus a French theater: a good library, strong tea, the wind in the trees, music, and family
To what faults do you feel most indulgent?: Internet and cheap entertainment
Who are your favorite heroes of fiction?: Aeneas. (ha!) Hard to say, off the top of my head.... Aslan?
Who are your favorite characters in history?: Proust, Cicero, Admiral Yi
Who are your favorite heroines in real life?: Virginia Woolf, if she counts as a heroine... Sand, maaaybe, except her writing is less than I hoped for
Who are your favorite heroines of fiction?: Cassandra, of I Captured the Castle, and maybe Lucy
Your favorite painter?: I'm sorry I cannot say.
Your favorite musician?: Beethoven, and then maybe Sufjan, but too many
The quality you most admire in a man?: Kindness, dedication, integrity, genius
The quality you most admire in a woman?: Warmth, wisdom, strength of will
Your favorite virtue?: Love, hope, and faith. I know that's three, but more specific than M Proust, at least
Your favorite occupation?: Reading, pretending I can write, stargazing, going for walks.
Who would you have liked to be?: Proust. HAHA, someone who could write, then!
Your most marked characteristic?: DAMNIT, MARCEL, QUIT TAKING MY ANSWERS; I'll settle for wistfulness.
What do you most value in your friends?: Earnest zeal, tempered with affection.
What is your principle defect?: Weakness of intellect and will
What to your mind would be the greatest of misfortunes?: To lose faith
What would you like to be?: Honest
What is your favorite color?: Okay, Marcel is right again, but I will say blues
What is your favorite flower?: The small, multicolored sunbursts that grow wild and rare on the Berkeley hills

Who are your favorite prose writers?: Proust, Nabokov, Lewis (as in C. S.), St Exupery
Who are your favorite poets?: Dante, Rilke, Ashbury
Who are your heroes in real life?: Justice (ha, professor), parents
Who are your favorite heroines of history?: Madame Curie
What are your favorite names?: Aurelia, Lee
What is it you most dislike?: I'm with M. Proust again.
What historical figures do you most despise?: We've been educated to say Hitler, I think, but "despise is a strong word.
What event in military history do you most admire?: HAHAHA, Proust is wonderful, but I will go with Admiral Yi and the turtle ships
What natural gift would you most like to possess?: Will power -- then genius and irresistible charm
How would you like to die?: Not the way I am now, which is from sheer despair at knowing Marcel's written everything important first
What is your present state of mind?: Annoyance at Proust for taking all the best answers
What is your motto?: I don't really have one.

You should change this, so we get the questions without seeing Proust's answers first, and are made miserable by his wit and genius only later, after having tried our best unthwarted.
